Andrew Wijemanne produced a determined performance to advance to the second round of the ITF J60 Tennis Tournament Week 2, being held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts from September 14 to 19.
Wijemanne defeated Thailand’s Tachatam Srisen 7-6, 6-0, 4-0 in the first round, with Srisen retiring early in the decisive third set.
After edging a tight opening set, Wijemanne raised his game significantly to dominate the second 6-0. He then carried that momentum into the third set, racing into a commanding 4-0 lead before his Thai opponent was forced to retire.
